School Resource Officer

In the Fall of 2021 a committee of administrators, teachers, students, and community members came together to review the School Resource Officer Agreement between the City of Carbondale and Carbondale Community High School. The charge of the committee was as follows:

  • MAKE RECOMMENDATIONS TO THE BOARD OF EDUCATION ON HOW THE SRO AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF CARBONDALE AND CCHS CAN BE UPDATED
  • ORIGINAL AGREEMENT WAS SIGNED IN 2012 AND HAS NOT BEEN UPDATED SINCE
  • THE BOARD HAS DECIDED THAT CCHS WILL CONTINUE TO HAVE AN SRO, OUR WORK WILL BE TO DISCUSS AND RECOMMEND LANGUAGE ON:
  1. THE PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
  2. THE ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SRO, AND
  3. THE ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE CCHS ADMINISTRATION
